Undergraduate students in biology and related majors are the primary audience. Graduate students with a strong need or interest are also welcome. No coding experience is required.
Scientific Coding Workshop · 2026
SciCoW is a free four-week virtual program for students in biology and related fields, followed by an optional in-person data-wrangling capstone.

Undergraduate students in biology and related majors are the primary audience. Graduate students with a strong need or interest are also welcome. No coding experience is required.
Students work in teams of five or six through a mix of live Zoom sessions, self-paced exercises, live Discord support, office hours, and Friday guest speakers.
Complete the short application form. Selection is based on motivation and the potential to use coding in your studies. You may also volunteer to serve as a peer team leader.
